We’re proud to continue our support of Boreham Wood Football Club, to the tune of £2,000 for the 2014-15 season.
We hope our support will help the club to build on what was one of its most successful campaigns both on and off the pitch.
Boreham Wood FC finished comfortably in mid-table in The Skrill South division last term and were just 10 minutes away from a famous FA Cup giant-killing act when they led League One’s Carlisle United 1-0 in a first round replay, only to concede two late goals which ended their interest in the competition. The Wood capped off their 65th anniversary year by lifting the Herts Senior Cup.
Away from the first team’s exploits, the club continued its role as a key community asset, providing free football coaching for hundreds of primary school children across the area – each of whom were also offered a free season ticket for Boreham Wood FC.
A partnership with Barnet and Southgate colleges also saw the club train 300 16 to 19-year-olds who are members of its PACE academy.
Boreham Wood FC’s Commercial Manager, Mandee Morris, says: “While the first team’s exploits get most of the attention, our work in the local community is a huge part of what this club is about.
“Borehamwood has a tight-knit community and we are the hub of that community thanks to the amount of work we do with local schools.
“Sponsorship really helps us to deliver our community work and so we are incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their continued support.”
Christine Scarborough, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, says: “We were delighted with our sponsorship package for last season, which helped the club to progress both on and off the pitch.
“We are only too pleased to continue our association with such a great community club, and would like to wish everybody at Boreham Wood FC the very best of luck for the new season.”
We’re building new homes at Gemini Park in Borehamwood.
