Woodley Town Football Club have secured a welcome deal that will see our regional business unit in West London sponsor their first-team’s training tops.
We made the offer after being contacted by the club – who are based near our Loddon Park development situated on the outskirts of Woodley.
Duncan Groves, commercial manager at Woodley Town FC, says: “It’s really important for us to get such a fantastic name like Taylor Wimpey on board, so we’re very grateful for their support.
“It’s a really exciting time for us as we have major plans to take the club forward over the next few years.”
The non-league club, who currently play in the Hellenic Football League Division One East, currently ground share with Reading Town FC at Scours Lane, but plan to merge with three other Woodley teams to form a new club, Woodley United, from next season.
“We’ve had great legal support from the FA, who see our plans as a future model for grassroots football, in getting this merger together and the plan is to set Woodley United up at a new ground in the area soon.
“So the sponsorship from Taylor Wimpey has come at an important time for the club and we’ll be happy to nurture that relationship with them going forward.”
The first-team will be wearing their newly sponsored tops during their training sessions held every Wednesday evening, while the players will also be donning them during their 45-minute warm-up routines before each match.
Emma Jones, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West London, says: “As a local housebuilder, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we build, so we’re more than happy to sponsor the training kit of Woodley Town FC.
“We wish the team every success, both on the pitch and with their merger plans to build a sustainable community-focused club that can represent Woodley long into the future.”
Loddon Park currently offers a selection of stunning two-bedroom apartments and four-bedroom houses.
