Wycombe High School receives £1,000 donation
We donated £1,000 to Wycombe High School to boost its fundraising efforts for new all-weather sports facilities.
Two of our regional businesses – West London and South Thames – joined forces to support the school by each offering a £500 donation.
Wycombe High School’s campaign aims to raise £600,000 to provide dual all-weather pitches and sports facilities.
Dana Morgan, Director of Development and Alumnae Relations at Wycombe High School, says: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey for this donation, it’s so wonderful that a large company has chosen to acknowledge that we are worthy of their gift.
“We always try to support local businesses and it’s fantastic that Taylor Wimpey is showing that they also care about giving back to the community.
“The facilities will be used by local clubs, primary schools and secondary schools, as well as a charity called Horizon, which encourages people with disabilities to play sports.
“This donation shows there is a need for this in the community, in fact people have already been calling to ask if they can book the pitches – even though we haven’t built them yet!”
Emma Jones, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West London, says: “We are committed to supporting the communities in which we build our new homes, so we are delighted to arrange this sponsorship of Wycombe High School’s new sports facilities.”
Susan Joseph, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Thames, adds: “We hope the pupils and local community enjoy the all-weather pitches when they’re complete – we wish the school every success for the future, both on and off the pitch.”
