WEB Homebuilder heads back to school to teach health safety 3

Our team in Yorkshire has been busy educating the children at Orchard Head Junior and Infant School in Pontefract on the importance of health and safety, by sharing its special protection presentation.

Pupils learnt about everything from safety in the home to what to do in the event of finding themselves on a construction site.

Keith Chester, Site Administrator at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, explains: “With our new The Dell development due to open in Pontefract in May, we are keen to help teachers and young children in the area to understand, assess and eliminate potential risks associated with the home and housebuilding process.

“Our safety presentation includes a short film about the dangers encountered when three children find themselves on a construction site, and we also look at safety in the home – including the garage, under the kitchen sink and chemicals.”

Our health and safety presentation is aimed at children between the ages of seven and 11, and pupils at Orchard Head Junior and Infant School were given the opportunity to dress in personal protection equipment, and learn some of the practical ways contractors stay safe on a live building site.

Keith adds: “There’s a real sense of dedication from all staff at schools we work with to ensure the children are safe and fully aware as to the dangers of the outside world, and as a responsible homebuilder, with a number of developments in the region, we’re delighted to be onboard.”

A superb selection of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties is coming soon at The Dell.
