Our West London business unit has helped get the ball rolling for sporting success at Harmans Water Primary School in Bracknell, Berkshire, after agreeing to sponsor the school football teams!
We recently donated £600 to purchase new multi-purpose sports kits, predominantly for use by the school’s two football teams, which are mixed boys and girls in Years 3 and 4 (pupils aged seven to nine) and Years 5 and 6 (aged nine to 11).
The donation means the school’s teams A and B are now able to represent their school in style, wearing brand new kits sporting player numbers, the school’s logo and our name.
Andy Taylor, Governor at Harmans Water Primary School, says: “Our football teams play to an extremely high standard, taking part in many matches and tournaments against other schools in the region, so we want them to wear kits they can be proud of and that make them feel like a team.
“Due to the standard at which our teams play they are also featured regularly in the local press and play at matches which receive a lot of publicity, so it’s also a great opportunity to show off our sponsorship from Taylor Wimpey.”
The school’s Parents’ Association had donated £200 towards the kits, but without our further donation the school would still not have been able to afford the high-quality kits that the teams will now wear.
Andy adds: “The kits we have been using until now were funded by school vouchers, so we were only able to have them in the school colours, whereas the new ones that will be purchased using Taylor Wimpey’s donation are better quality so the players can wear something they have pride in.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for their donation – it’s great that they’ve given something to the local school.”
Harmans Water Primary School football teams competed in the Bracknell Primary School’s Football League and Bracknell Primary Cup against other local schools and will wear their new kits for forthcoming fixtures.
The Years 3 and 4 team won the Easthampstead Park tournament in 2014 and represented Bracknell Forest at the County Finals, as well as won the prestigious Bracknell Forest Game tournament which took place in the neighbouring town of Reading.
Emma Jones, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West London, says: “We are really pleased to be able to make this donation to Harmans Water Primary School football teams and help the players feel proud to represent their school.
“We hope the teams really enjoy their new kit and wish them the best of luck in their upcoming matches and tournaments.”
Our West London team is currently building high-quality new homes at our Ramslade Court at The Parks development in Bracknell.
