A junior football team in Staffordshire got their new season off to a flying start thanks to a cash boost from our regional business unit, Taylor Wimpey West Midlands – the team’s third sponsorship deal in as many years!
We have donated more than £1,250 to the Cresswell Colts over the last three years – which has been used towards purchasing new kits and equipment for the players.
The latest sponsorship contribution was put towards match balls, training balls and corner flags for the U13s team ahead of the 2016/2017 season.
David Smith, manager of Cresswell Colts U13s, says: “Once the youngsters leave the academy when they are six, each manager is responsible for finding funding and sponsorship for their team.
“It’s great having the ongoing support from Taylor Wimpey as it’s meant that the youngsters are able to play and train with new equipment, which is important to us, because the balls and nets get worn out very quickly and need to be replaced each season.
“I’ve been managing the team for the last seven years, and in that time we’ve worked our way up from division five to division two, which is an incredible achievement for the players.
“Previously Cresswell Colts have played 9-a-side football, but when the new season starts on the 4th of September, they will be playing 11-a-side games on a larger, full size pitch, which is very exciting!”
Elaine Cartwright, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Midlands, says: “We feel that it’s very important to support our local communities and are delighted to be helping the Cresswell Colts for another year. We’d like to wish the team every success for the rest of the season.”
There is currently a superb selection of three and four-bedroom properties at our Burntwood Manor development in Burntwood, Staffordshire.
