The Base Youth Centre Received £250 Donation From Taylor Wimpey West London

Taylor Wimpey West London has donated £250 to support The Base Youth Centre, a non-profit organisation which provides activities and education for local youngsters in Hook, Hampshire.

The leading local housebuilder – which is currently preparing to launch stunning new properties at Pembroke Manor on the outskirts of town – has donated the funds to enable the youth centre to provide a six-week course, complete with a professional coach, in circuit training.

Sara Wise, Manager at The Base Youth Centre, says: “I’d like to say a massive thank you to Taylor Wimpey on behalf of the youth centre’s volunteers and staff, this kind offer means the local community can continue to enjoy our specialist facilities.

“Taylor Wimpey’s donation helped to pay for a six-week course in Circuit Training including a professional coach, from Supersportz which really helps us to give back to people in the local area.

“We initially began as a chill out space with computers for teens, but we have adapted to the rise of social media and technology by offering varied provisions catering to young people.

“At the youth centre we focus on enhancing the wellbeing of people in the Hook area with exercise classes such as circuit training and teen yoga, as well as practical life skills with our babysitting course which includes first aid, and basic cooking classes for children and teenagers.

“Our key aim is to support the local community through groups such as ‘Inclusion’, which teaches children who have been excluded from school essential life skills in a non-traditional classroom environment, as well as our unique intergenerational group which encourages young teens to interact more with older generations.”

The Base Youth Centre is a key fixture in the local community which enriches the lives of young people by providing them with opportunities to learn necessary life skills and encouraging a healthy outlook regarding personal and community wellbeing.

Emma Jones, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West London, says: “We are incredibly proud to give our support to the community of Hook by donating £250 towards The Base Youth Centre.

“We wish all who enjoy the facilities at The Base Youth Centre the very best with their circuit training.
