Young footballers at Cosby United Youth & Junior Football Club in Leicestershire have kicked off the season in style thanks to a sponsorship deal with us.

Our East Midlands business unit – which is currently building new homes at Grangewood Manor in Leicester Forest East – donated £500 to the club’s U14s Girls team, to cover the costs of a brand new kit.

Darrell Townsend, club secretary and manager of the U14s Girls team, says: “The old kit was looking a little threadbare so we decided to put the feelers out for possible sponsors. We were over the moon when Taylor Wimpey offered to support us!

“Thanks to the £500 donation we’ve been able to buy new kit for the whole team and it has really taken the pressure off us – we are only a small village club so Taylor Wimpey’s sponsorship has made a massive difference.”

The new strip includes shirts, shorts and socks in the club’s traditional black and white vertical stripes and is adorned with the Taylor Wimpey logo.

“The girls absolutely love their new kit,” continues Darrell. “They all look really smart and it seems to be helping their performance on the pitch too – they won all three of their first games this season and went straight to the top of the league!

“To have a big company like Taylor Wimpey backing us is brilliant and we want to say a huge thank you. The new kits look great and will keep the girls going for the next two years.”

Founded in 1975, Cosby United Youth & Junior Football Club is based at Victory Park off Park Road in the village and currently has 18 boys and girls teams catering for players aged 5-16. The U14s Girls team play in the Under 14s Green Division (Division 2) of the Leicestershire Girls League.

Lucie Grundy, Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “As a local housebuilder, we recognise that grassroots sport is a major part of any community so we were delighted to support the U14s Girls team at Cosby United Youth & Junior Football Club.

“We’re really pleased to hear that the new kit has helped get the girls off to a flying start this season and we’d like to wish them the very best of luck for their upcoming fixtures.”

There’s currently a superb selection of two and four-bedroom homes at Grangewood Manor.
