“Our rental property just wasn’t big enough for the family, so we started to look to buy our own home. We were really impressed with the house types at Taylor Wimpey’s Millers Brow development and were pleasantly surprised to find that buying with the FirstBuy scheme meant our monthly mortgage repayments were actually less than what we were paying in rent.
“We only needed a five per cent deposit which was much more manageable as we could save while also paying our rent.
“We chose the three bedroom Bancroft house, as it’s a traditional two storey design with ample room for the boys. Plus the development is in a great location, it’s just ten minutes to work for both Christopher and I, and we’re in the best catchment area for the local primary school. We really couldn’t ask for more.
“We’re really enjoying our new home and the freedom it’s given us. The FirstBuy scheme was a huge help in getting us onto the property ladder and the fact we needed a smaller deposit than we were expecting was a blessing as it meant we could move sooner than we’d thought.”
