“I liked the idea of buying a new-build house so we wouldn’t have to do any work on the property when we moved in and we wanted to buy in Newport as Abby is at the university here.
“Initially we weren’t aware that Help to Buy Wales was available and when we visited Lysaght Village we thought we could only afford one of the coach house apartments, which wasn’t what we were looking for as we really wanted a house.
“Then the Sales Executives told us about Help to Buy Wales and that using it we could afford a three-bedroom house at the development. The scheme made all the difference. It was straightforward and easy using Help to Buy Wales and meant we could have the home we wanted.”
“One of the best aspects of the location is the quick access to the motorway. Because I’m in the Armed Forces I can be based in different places and have to travel quite a lot, so I didn’t want to have to drive through the city before I got to the motorway.
“We also like the fact there’s a big Tesco and a retail park close by, yet it’s still quite a secluded place to live.”
