First time buyers Malcolm and Diane Jones found everything they were looking for from their first home at The Lees development in Sellindge. After having rented a two bedroom property in the village for almost fifteen years, the couple moved into their three bedroom Gosford home at The Lees in February this year.
The couple had had their eye on The Lees since hearing about it in the planning stages and, after seeing the new homes starting to be built, decided to find out more. Malcolm said: “Our rented house was getting too small but we wanted to stay in our home village. We didn’t think we could afford a house in Sellindge until we heard about the new builds at The Lees. We were very lucky. We ideally wanted a home that faced the village green and had a garage and we got exactly that. It’s fantastic to be able to look out to the countryside,” Malcolm said.
The couple originally chose to look at The Lees because of its location and were pleasantly surprised to find that they could afford the home of their dreams with the help of the Government backed Help to Buy:Equity Loan scheme. Malcolm and Diane found that they were able to buy a larger home than they had initially thought possible, with Malcolm saying: “Without the Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme, it would not have been possible for us to stay in our home village. It’s been a huge help and we’re delighted with our new house.”
The couple were also pleased with their experience of buying a new home with us. Malcolm said: “We found that all the staff at Taylor Wimpey have been friendly and approachable. They bent over backwards to help us and the after sales support has been great. Any problems that we have encountered have been rectified quickly with no fuss.”
