“We were renting a mid-terrace house in east London before my partner, Dan, and I moved to our new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Oaktrees in Borehamwood. It was okay, but we felt like our money was being wasted.
“A friend recommended Taylor Wimpey and their homebuyer incentives, so we visited Oaktrees where the Sales Executive explained to us how they could help.
“Because we only needed to find a 5% deposit under FirstBuy, we were able to become homeowners after saving for only a few months rather than the years it might have taken otherwise.
“Now we’ve got our own two-bedroom apartment at Oaktrees and we’re really happy here. We love the large open-plan lounge/kitchen because it’s got an attractive south-facing balcony, which means we get the best of the sun.
“Buying off-plan gave us the chance to get the flooring we wanted laid throughout the apartment before we moved in. There was such a great selection – it took us ages to decide – and we’re really happy with how Taylor Wimpey completed the job.
“Having our own place is already working out much cheaper than renting. Our monthly mortgage and utility bills now cost us less than the money we were paying to our old landlord, plus now we are investing in our future.”
