Etienne Klotz, 44, and Marie Rose Klotz, 41, thought that they would never be able to save a deposit large enough to buy a home to accommodate their ever growing family. They were living in a rented three-bedroom house in Farnham when they visited our Oaklands at Crookham Park development in Church Crookham and found out about the Government backed Help to Buy scheme which enabled them to secure their very own four bedroom home.

Both first time buyers and existing homeowners using Help to Buy only need to save a 5% deposit and, helped by an equity loan of up to 20% from the Government, secure a 75% mortgage. Etienne explained: “Without Help to Buy we would have struggled to buy our new home. As we were previously in a rented property the amount of money we could put aside was small, but only having to save a 5% deposit was achievable. The Sales Executives at Oaklands were incredibly helpful and explained to us in detail about how Help to Buy works. They also recommended an independent Financial Advisor who was great and talked us through all the necessary paperwork.”

Although the availability of Help to Buy enabled Etienne and Marie Rose to buy a home at Oaklands at Crookham Park, there were several other factors that persuaded them to purchase a new build property. Having previously built a house from scratch and being involved in all aspects of the design process, the couple wanted a home that they could really make their own. They reserved their Silver Birch home at Oaklands early enough to be able to pick from Taylor Wimpey’s range of interior Options and chose everything from flooring, kitchen units, tiling and electric sockets.

The development’s close proximity to primary and secondary schools was also a deciding factor for Etienne, a pilot, and Marie Rose, a stay-at-home mum, in choosing to make Oaklands at Crookham Park home. The couple’s young children, aged 11, 9 and 8, were already attending a school in the area and they didn’t want to move them.

The Klotz family moved into their new house last August. “We are very pleased with our new home”, Etienne says. “In fact, just after purchasing we found out that Marie Rose was pregnant again - but luckily we had more than enough space to welcome our newest addition. We’re also really happy with the location, the boys have been able to stay in their schools, and there are a range of amenities nearby including a convenience shop just a five minute walk away.”

“I was so impressed by our experience with Taylor Wimpey that I recommended that a friend from work visits the site. He ended up buying a home at Oaklands just four months later!”
