New houses in Bedfordshire impress couple

Part Exchange scheme allowed Richard Tanswell and Jane Morris to secure their perfect match at Taylor Wimpey’s Castlemead housing development of new homes in Bedfordshire.

When Richard Tanswell and Jane Morris decided they wanted a more peaceful location in which to bring up their new baby Izabella, they were able to move into their dream property in Bedfordshire without even having to put their existing house on the market!

The couple were already aspiring to a more tranquil lifestyle away from the busy terraced street in Watford where they lived, when they visited friends at Taylor Wimpey’s stunning Castlemead development of new homes in Pitstone, Bedfordshire – and decided this was where they wanted to settle too.

Castlemead is in an ideal alternative location for property-seekers looking for homes for sale in Tring, Luton property and houses for sale in Aylesbury

The fact they hadn’t started trying to sell their home was no problem, as they were able to take advantage of Taylor Wimpey’s Part Exchange scheme. This meant the family moved into their new ‘Ivinghoe’ four-bedroom detached home in the space of just a couple of months – with no hassle or stress!

Richard (35) said: “We liked the area when we visited our friends and when we realised Taylor Wimpey was building another phase we popped into the showhome – and the rest is history!

“Part Exchange meant the move was really easy, much easier than the previous time we moved, as we didn’t have to deal with estate agents and it was also really quick – about two months in total. We were particularly pleased with Taylor Wimpey and how they managed the whole process.”

For Richard and Jane (29), the arrival of baby Izabella, now 14 months, refocused their lifestyle priorities, as they realised they wanted her to grow up somewhere quieter. Good local schools and plenty of space for IT consultant Richard to work from home were also key criteria.

Richard added: “When we moved three years ago we didn’t have a baby, but the whole scenario changes when you have your first child!

“As well as wanting somewhere rural and quieter, we looked at schools, which have got really good reviews round here. Also, I work from home much of the time now and space for a home office was another factor. I like the fact the top-floor landing is big enough to have a desk in and it’s nice and quiet up there!

“The layout of the whole house has been well thought out. It’s a good house for entertaining, all the rooms are good sizes, and we like having the en suite and separate bathrooms. And having moved from a terraced street, we really appreciate the garage and off-road parking!”

The ‘Ivinghoe’, available now at Castlemead priced from just £369,995, is an exceptional three-storey detached home, characterised by an open-plan kitchen and dining room, and a spacious separate lounge, each opening through French doors to the private rear garden. A handy guest cloakroom completes the ground-floor accommodation.

Upstairs, the first-floor landing leads to the master bedroom with en suite shower room, plus a spacious second bedroom and a main bathroom. Two further generously proportioned bedrooms and a shower room occupy the top floor, while outside, the property benefits from a garage and additional allocated parking.

Like all new homes being built at Castlemead, the ‘Ivinghoe’ enjoys a high standard specification including a fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood and a choice of units.

The housing development aims to achieve an EcoHomes ‘Excellent’ rating through a range of green features, including dual-flush toilets, water butts to collect rain for watering the gardens, secure cycle stores, recycling bins in the kitchens, rotary dryers in the gardens, and A-rated white goods available from Taylor Wimpey’s Options range of finishing touches for each home.

Additional Options in the range include flooring and carpets, upgraded kitchen units, granite worktops and appliances, and tiling, showers and bathroom suites.

And to make buying a home at Castlemead even more appealing, Taylor Wimpey offers a range of time and money-saving incentives to its customers, including its Part Exchange and easymover schemes, available on selected plots.

Castlemead is attracting a great many families and executive couples, keen to enjoy life in a thriving village community within easy reach of Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard and central London.

The new homes at Castlemead in Pitstone are within easy reach of a pre-school, sports clubs and activities for youngsters, while the village church, cricket club, drama group and local history society offer activities for all. Pitstone is also the proud home to a museum of rural life, packed with fascinating artefacts charting the area’s rich heritage.

Children are well catered for by a selection of good educational facilities within the local area, including a primary school a mile from the development, and secondary schools in the market town of Tring, just three miles away.

Tring also offers a wide range of shops, sporting and leisure pursuits, while Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard and Hemel Hempstead are all within a 10-mile radius of Castlemead.

For those travelling further afield, the M25 is 20 miles away, and the M1 north and south is within a 10-mile drive. Tring Station provides regular services to London Euston in 45 minutes.
