When Carol Dunne’s circumstance changed dramatically last year, she used the opportunity to create a more positive situation for herself and move to a more rural location. Carol (67) sold the large three-bedroom home she was living in at the time in Uxbridge to move to Woodford Meadows, and in doing so was able to afford a home, far beyond her reach in the London area.
Woodford Meadows, in Woodford Halse, was the first development Carol viewed after visiting a friend, who already lived in the village. It was the three-storey ‘Crofton’ housetype that particularly caught her eye. Carol, who is now retired, explains: “I just fell in love with the house and really, really wanted it. I particularly loved the master bedroom and en-suite, which makes up the entire top floor. My son, his family and dog come to visit regularly and the house, with its three bedrooms and three bathrooms, is laid out perfectly for me to have guests to
The three-storey ‘Crofton’ home benefits from a spacious kitchen-diner, a living and dining room, which has french doors opening out onto the private garden, a WC and understairs cupboard on the ground floor. The first floor comprises a spacious double bedroom, a versatile single bedroom and a family bathroom. The second floor is home to an opulent double bedroom and en-suite.
Despite moving to a completely new area in January, Carol is really finding her feet now and enjoys the combination of a quiet, peaceful location at Woodford Meadows with the amenities of Woodford Halse on the doorstep, and the close proximity of Northampton, Rugby, Daventry, Royal Leamington Spa, Milton Keynes and Oxford for all her other needs.
Carol adds: “I can’t fault the service that Taylor Wimpey provided. They explained exactly how everything would work and I found the buying process easy and pain free. I genuinely have to pinch myself, I feel so lucky.”
