Alexandra and Andy Davies are enjoying a new life in the country at Old Kiln Lakes in Chinnor – thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s fantastic Part Exchange scheme.

Under Part Exchange, the leading housebuilder acted as the guaranteed buyer for their old house in Bolton, Lancashire, and made their dream move to Old Kiln Lakes a reality.

“Without Part Exchange and Georgina, the Sales Executive at Old Kiln Lakes, working so hard on our behalf to arrange it all, we’d probably still be living in our old home in Bolton,” says Alexandra. “We’re very grateful to Georgina for helping make it possible.”

The couple decided to make the move south for a variety of reasons – Andy wanted to be closer to London for his work as an IT consultant, while Alexandra, a professional photographer, wanted to explore the market locally. They also thought it would be a more suitable location for family life.

“Chinnor’s a small village as opposed to a massive town where we lived before,” explains Alexandra. “We were familiar with the area because we have family nearby and we knew the schools were really good. It was important to us to move before Xander started school.

“We really liked Old Kiln Lakes as it doesn’t feel like a huge housing estate – and our little boy loves the steam railway which runs along the side of the development!

“Plus, it’s perfectly located for Andy to commute, as he can get the train straight into London from Princes Risborough.”

The Davies family are enjoying life in their spacious three-bedroom property, which has views out to the Chilterns from the back windows.

“I especially like being able to watch Xander playing in the garden, as there’s a door from the kitchen into the garden and French doors from the lounge,” says Alexandra. “It’s a really light and airy house and we’ve been very impressed with the high quality of the build.

“We really love living in the countryside. We moved in at the start of the summer and it was lovely just to see the countryside around us. And we love the village – it’s a completely different pace of life. We’re really happy here.”
