Jason Woodcock and Connor Turner, both 26, were over the moon after finding their dream first home at our Croft Gardens development in Spencers Wood after stumbling across it on their daily walk.
Whilst living in a rented two bedroom flat in Shinfield, Jason and Connor found themselves searching for the perfect house for over a year but to no avail. Whilst on their daily walk around the area, they came across the Croft Gardens development and began to explore potential options.
Jason and Connor were instantly attracted to a two bedroom apartment in Carnation House and completed their move at the end of July. To secure their home, they opted to use the government backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme.
Connor said: “We loved the look and location of Croft Gardens so decided to investigate what Taylor Wimpey had to offer. The apartment was our first viewing and we knew instantly that it was where we wanted to call home. As first time buyers, the Help to Buy scheme helped immensely.”
Commenting on their new home, Jason said: “The flat was perfect for myself and Connor. We didn’t have a lot of space in our old house so it is so nice to have a spacious living room and kitchen. As a keen baker, the kitchen is an important part of the home. The balcony also means we have a relaxing area to enjoy the evenings.”
Jason and Connor were looking for a modern, high quality yet affordable home in the area which they are already familiar with. Connor said: “Our old house is not far from the development so we have got to know the area really well. We are both working from home at the moment, however we can still commute when the time comes.”
Commenting on their home buying journey, Jason said: “The sales team at Croft Gardens were extremely helpful from start to finish. Being a first time buyer wanting to use the Help to Buy scheme, as well as buying during the COVID-19 lockdown, we had a lot of questions. The sales team have been a great help and were always available to answer our queries.
“As we were buying during the COVID-19 lockdown, we were sent a virtual tour of the apartment which allowed us to plan out how we were going to make it our own. We still wanted to get a feel for the house and were eventually able to look around it, which really confirmed to us that we had made the right choice.”
Jason and Connor have now settled into their new surroundings and are enjoying life at Croft Gardens. Connor said: “I would recommend Taylor Wimpey to anyone. They made our journey seamless and we will definitely buy with them again.”
