Craving space, the Callaghan family wanted to replace their old two bedroom property with something larger and closer to their family. A visit to our development at Burnside View in Bargeddie, near Coatbridge, became the answer to their ideal move.
With space for everyone, grandparents on the doorstep, as well as great schools and nurseries for their two children, Hayley and James fell in love with their Baxter three bedroom semi-detached home in the popular North Lanarkshire town after the development was spotted by Hayley’s dad.
It was a win-win situation as Hayley, aged 34, a manager in a private health care company explains: “Our two bedroom house just south of Glasgow was fine when it was just myself, my husband James and our daughter Aoife. But when I was pregnant with my second daughter Oonagh, we just knew that we would need more space as the girls grew older.
“I really like new-build houses. They are modern, energy efficient and I was really happy that I was able to personalise my house with flooring and an upgraded kitchen. So, when we moved in, we knew that we just didn’t need to do anything. I also like that you also know the houses will be built to a very high standard, and the various warranties and guarantees gives you peace of mind too.
“James and I just wanted to be able to move-in to a new house and get settled really quickly. And I am so glad that we chose this house and Taylor Wimpey, because one week after moving in, I gave birth to Oonagh.”
Hayley adds: “We chose the Baxter because this was the style of house that matched our budget and our needs as a family while still leaving us with money to be able to enjoy life. We have lots of space for everyone and the girls each have their own bedroom. There’s lots of storage space and our master bedroom is really spacious – I really love this house, can’t fault it at all.”
Juggling two children and both working full-time meant the couple wanted to be closer to family as James, aged 31, who is an engineer adds: “Moving here has been great – it feels like we are in the countryside, but it is ideal for getting access to the motorway for both Hayley and I to get to work. But it’s also got a lovely family and community feel and it’s one of the reasons we chose this development. The children can play outside safely, and we have lovely neighbours with everyone really looking out for one another.
“Plus, with Hayley’s mum and dad nearby in Baillieston and great schools and nurseries for the girls to go to when they are old enough, we have everything that we need around us to get on with life.”
The family used our easymover scheme, which helped them to get on the move as James, explains: “The team at Taylor Wimpey took control of everything and we only had an input when they needed us to. We found the easymover scheme very easy to use and it helped us to find a buyer for our old house really quickly. The whole process was stress-free for us and I would definitely recommend Easymover to anyone with a property to sell – it saved us so much hassle.”
