Our Yorkshire region is delighted to lend its support towards Health Walks, run by Normanton’s Well Project. Clover View, which is located off nearby Castleford Road, has donated £500 towards the initiative, which sees walkers of all ages (up to 86!) meet every Friday to walk routes throughout local rural and urban areas. Health Walks started seven years ago and is supported by Macmillan and The Rambler’s Association. The walks are hugely popular, helping with fitness, company, and overall wellness for residents from all over the area.
Angela Court-Johnston, volunteer at The Well Project, comments: “This donation is a really welcome boost - we are incredibly grateful. Our projects are all run by volunteers so the support of local businesses is vital to enable us to continue.”
Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director from Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, adds: “We are always very keen to support the local communities in which we develop homes and this is the perfect example of a community group whose benefits spread far and wide. When we heard they could do with some financial support we were only too happy to help.”
