Welcome to Capstone Oaks
Launching Spring/Summer 2025
Enjoy the best of both worlds at Capstone Oaks. Located in the historic town of Chatham, Capstone Oaks will be a vibrant new community of up to 800 homes with areas of open space and new community facilities.
The first phase provides a choice of 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom houses, with contemporary and characterful designs and energy efficient features, including solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, to help reduce running costs. Over time, residents of Capstone Oaks will benefit from new facilities on the doorstep including retail space, cycle routes, a community or nursery facility and plenty of green space. The development will also include a primary school, should Medway Council choose to take up the 3ha site being offered. Additionally, the project will incorporate nature-friendly features such as hedgehog highways and wildflower areas.
With convenient access to London via high-speed rail and major motorways, along with excellent schools and universities nearby, Capstone Oaks is perfect for both commuters and families. Residents will also enjoy close proximity to scenic spots including Capstone Country Park and the Kent Downs for outdoor activities, as well as easy access to Chatham which offers a range of retail, dining and entertainment venues.
The perfect place to be
Nestled in a location that combines the best of convenience and charm, Capstone Oaks will find themselves well connected to Chatham and Gillingham. We donated over £29,000 to good causes in Kent in 2024
We supported a variety of organisations including Amber, a charity supporting young people facing homelessness, who received a £22,000 donation with funds raised during our charity golf day.
Through our Community Chest initiative, which invites Kent residents to nominate local causes for donations, we contributed £1,000 each to Making Miracles and The Christmas Dinner Folkestone.
Tom Wells, a volunteer at The Christmas Dinner Folkestone, said: “A massive thank you to Taylor Wimpey for such a generous donation.”
Kelly Wells, CEO for Making Miracles, said: “We are so delighted to receive this donation in our tenth year having supported over 5000 families locally. It will help us to continue to offer our services and provide bereavement care for people in their darkest moments. Thank you so much.”
We also supported local community events, including the Herne Bay Festival and Folkestone Armed Forces Day, and sponsored sports teams including Herne Bay FC Women and Dartford FC, with a total of £1,000 in sponsorship. Local primary schools also benefitted from donations during World Book Day and Walk to School Month.
Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South East, said: “From schools and sports teams, to community events and charities who provide vital support to people in need, giving back to the communities in which we build is at the heart of what we do. We’re pleased to have supported a range of groups in and around Kent in 2024 and we’re dedicated to doing more of the same in 2025.”
Investment in the local area
A home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. That’s why we’re invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.
As part of our planning obligations for Capstone Oaks, we’ll be contributing over £7.1 million to Medway Council towards investment in local facilities and infrastructure nursery, primary and secondary education, local cycleways, waste and recycling services and Special Protection Areas for birds.
In addition, 23 of the homes in the first phase (25%), will be provided as affordable housing.Energy efficiency
