Following our recent Make Moving Easier show home event at Meadowside in Glenboig, where visitors were encouraged to visit the development in support of the local Glenboig Life Centre, we are delighted to confirm that a £550 boost has been donated to the group.
This donation is in addition to our ongoing commitment to working in partnership with Glenboig Development Trust, based in the North Lanarkshire village, to donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed at Meadowside. As part of that project, a donation of £625 was made, taking the latest donation to £1,175.
Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “Following our Make Moving Easier event in Glenboig, we are delighted to be able to support our local charity partner - The Glenboig Life Centre - with this donation to boost their funds which they will use to support the wide range of activities and services they offer to the local community of Glenboig.
“Being able to support and work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference in the lives of people in our local communities.”
Commenting on this latest pledge of support, Teresa Aitken, Deputy Operations Manager at Glenboig Development Trust, said: “We are extremely grateful for this ongoing support from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we are thrilled they have raised more funds for us that we will use to provide our wide range of projects to the local community.
“We can’t thank them enough for this latest donation, and we were delighted to see so many members of the local community took the opportunity to visit the development as part of this lovely event for families. On behalf of everyone who benefits from our support and projects in Glenboig, I would like to say a huge thank you.”
At the launch of our development, we teamed up with Glenboig Development Trust to donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed within our first phase of 161 new homes at Meadowside.
In total, we will donate a grand sum of £4,025 as work at the development progresses and more of our customers move in. So far, we’ve donated £925, and there’s more in the pipeline.
We have also been involved in helping to transform the Trust’s local community garden and have donated soil, materials, and funding to help the project along. And, in recognition of the local area’s links to the brick industry, we’re also a proud sponsor of a brick within the ‘brick wall’ that takes pride of place within the Life Centre in the village.
