Did you know you can style your new home before you move in?First-Time Buyers Swap Renting for Countryside Home
Nyaish Mansoor (29), a Surgical Trainee, and her husband, Saqib Ali (29), a GP, moved into their first home in June 2024. The couple had been previously renting a flat and wanted to secure a place on the property ladder. They chose to purchase a new-build home over a pre-owned one due to new-builds requiring little to no renovation. Nyaish said: “New-builds also usually come with certain features we wanted such as a downstairs bathroom, an ensuite and the option to choose finishes.”
Nyaish and Saqib opted for a Taylor Wimpey home due to positive reviews and the fact that it offered homes within their budget in their desired location. “We chose East Hollinsfield because it’s close to our work, the motorway, and other locations that we frequently visit,” said Nyaish. When asked about their first impressions of East Hollinsfield, Nyaish said: “It was very well presented, lovely and clean. The staff were engaging and the showhomes were amazing and so well presented. They really gave us a feel of how we could make our own home look.”
After exploring our selection of house types, the couple ultimately decided on the Lydford. A spacious, four bedroom home with an open-plan kitchen and dining area featuring French double doors leading into the rear garden. Commenting on the Lydford, Saqib said: “We picked the Lydford because we wanted a detached house at the end of the road and this house type also has a large entrance and hallway.
“While we were initially looking for a three bedroom home, we plan for this house to be our home for the next 5-10 years so future children were a factor when deciding on a four bedroom house. For now, the extra room also means we can have a home office. When we saw the Lydford house type, it ticked all of our boxes and we love the decision we have made.”
Despite being first-time buyers, Nyaish and Saqib found the sales process to be seamless and straightforward. Nyaish said: “It was pretty smooth all the way and the sales team were easy to get in touch with. Upon purchasing the home, we received a beautiful basket of goodies which was such a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. Also, getting to receive updates on our home as it was being built and being able to see it in the building stages was really nice.”
Now that Nyaish and Saqib have settled into their home, they shared some of their favourite things about it and East Hollinsfield. Nyaish said: “The development feels safe and cosy, the surrounding fields and green space are lovely and we love being next to a farm. We’re really looking forward to the park and pond that will be built once the development is completed as we love walking.
“I love the options we’ve chosen for our home too, it’s all excellent quality and very functional - especially the LeMans carousel in the kitchen. The Lydford has met all our needs. The upstairs is wonderfully laid out, the rooms are perfect sizes with two smaller rooms that can be used for a dressing room, guest room or an office, but later converted to children’s rooms if needed. Downstairs, the kitchen is a perfect size and the garage is the cherry on top with a really nice driveway. So far we’ve loved the Lydford as it’s not too big or too small for our needs.”

Supporting the local community
To celebrate World Book Day, we teamed up with Bowlee Park Community School in Middleton to help fund a reading session for year 2 pupils. Author Gemma Merlen, the writer behind the Polly Paint Pony series, treated the children to a fun, creative reading session, followed by a Q&A sessions and signed copies of her book afterwards.
The school was also provided a financial donation towards their library.
