The community at Thorn Fields continues to grow and develop as we have been here for a few years now. Popular with families and first time buyers wanting to make the most of the excellent commuter links available, there’s plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make friends at Thorn.
As many residents are now moved in, you will often see children and families playing in the various parks around the development as well as making the most of the local coffee shop and takeaway of an evening.
You’ll find the town of Houghton Regis itself is a welcoming place with a keen community spirit and there are many events run by the local town council throughout the calendar year. Residents will enjoy visiting Houghton Hall Park and exploring it's grounds in the Summer months - the kitchen garden certainly has the 'wow factor'.

Donation to Ardley Hill Primary
We recently visited Ardley Hill Academy in Dunstable, nearby to the development, following our donation of a heavy-duty site container alongside a £150 contribution for brand new sports equipment.
The container will serve as a secure storage facility for the academy, offering a practical solution to their growing outdoor storage requirements.
The additional monetary donation has allowed the school to purchase basketballs as well as tennis bats and balls, benefitting pupils across different age groups.
Stephen Fox, Headteacher at Ardley Hill Academy, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey South Midlands for their generous support. The container has been instrumental in helping us organise essential resources, and the sports equipment will enrich our students’ physical education experience. A big thank you to all involved.”
Donation to Houghton Hall Park
We donated £500 in support of the Friends of Houghton Hall Park Group, plus a new insect abode which can be seen in the stunning kitchen gardens.
Houghton Hall Park, owned and jointly managed by Central Bedfordshire Council and Houghton Regis Town Council, has the support from the Friends of Houghton Hall Park Group, who were set up in 2021 to assist with conservation tasks, gardening, events, and fundraising.
Councillor Rebecca Hares, Executive Member for Health and Community Liaison at Central Bedfordshire Council, said: "We are very grateful to receive this donation and would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for supporting the Friends of Houghton Hall Park, who give their time so generously to improve the park for the whole community."
