New streets will enhance the existing street-scape and high-quality new green spaces will be key to the design, with homes arranged around communal courtyards that include lawns for recreation, play space for all ages and productive gardens, with around 170 new trees planted on site. Coronation Square has been designed by those with a talent and a passion for landscaping and there's a rich biodiversity in the shrubs, wildflowers and habitats landscaped into the development. Nowhere can it be more appreciated than when sitting or engaging with friends at the communal benches and tables.

International Womens Day 2024
We hold careers talk in Waltham Forest on International Women’s Day
Our London team and SIMIAN joined forces to inspire young female students in Waltham Forest by delivering an employability skills talk at Buxton School in Leytonstone.
Inspiring our young generations
Lisa Beresford, Apprentice Manager for our London team, was joined by Sara Calvo, South East Business Development Manager at SIMIAN at LASC to help year 9 and 10 female students prepare for their first job.
The interactive session included advice on demystifying stereotypical assumptions, creating a school leaver CV and how to prepare for an interview, as well as interview roleplay.
We are building new homes at Coronation Square, a major regeneration project with Waltham Forest Council and Lisa and Sara are working with them as Enterprise Advisors through Local London Careers Hub East, and have been engaging with students at various schools in Walthamstow.
Lisa said: “There are so many opportunities for women to have exciting careers in construction and we’re really pleased to have been able to talk to students at Buxton School on International Women’s Day this year.
“Our work with young people across Waltham Forest has shown us that there are some brilliant young minds in the borough and we hope to see some of them joining our industry in the future.”
Sara added: “I am always amazed by the enthusiasm of our youth in Waltham Forest. It is always a pleasure to deliver workshops in schools and at our training centre in Leytonstone, London Academy of Sustainable Construction (LASC).
“We aim to give insight and assist the students in making informed career choices in a fun, interactive way. The relationship between Taylor Wimpey and SIMIAN is extremely valuable for students to understand the important connection between their employer and training provider to learn how they can work together to ensure best practice on and off the job.”
Ann-Marie Linehan, Assistant head Teacher at Buxton School, said: “The workshop held by Taylor Wimpey was simply wonderful. Our students loved being in a female only environment exploring how gender can influence job applications and how different roles are perceived in various industries. “The speed interview session really gave the students an insight into the kinds of questions they may be asked, preparing them to react well when under pressure in a real life scenario”
Meet our Apprentice Plumber at Coronation Square
Meet our Apprentice Plumber at Coronation Square
A Leyton resident is building a career in construction in his home community after starting a plumbing apprenticeship at our new Coronation Square development.
An understanding workplace
Coronation Square is a modern development of 750 new homes in the heart of Leyton, with a range of apartments and houses surrounding a vibrant market square in the heart of the new community.
Leyton resident Darren was looking to learn a trade and found the perfect opportunity with an apprenticeship on our site, through Waltham Forest Council - our partner on the development.
Darren said: “I find that Taylor Wimpey is good to work for as I’m always given the opportunity to learn new things regarding different types of pipework, and regulations.
“I do take pride in being a part of the construction side of Coronation Square, as I’ve grown up here and it is a great place to bring people together.
“You’ve got the communal area, the homes with the shops underneath and soon the sports centre too. It feels good to know that my four kids are growing up in a safe environment and with Taylor Wimpey being very flexible with childcare, it’s like a jigsaw falling into place.”
