ManGang UK in Southampton has been awarded £1,000 after being announced as the winner of our Community Chest competition.
Residents living in Whiteley and the surrounding areas were invited to nominate a local good cause who deserved a helping hand. Once all of the entries were considered, we awarded ManGang UK with the top prize and the donation will be put towards helping to support the work that they do, raise more awareness and facilitate helping towards more venues.
Andy Cuffley, Director of ManGang UK, said: “We are honoured to be recognised and nominated by the people of Whiteley and chosen as the winner by Taylor Wimpey. This will help us raise general awareness of men's poor mental health and of the work of ManGang UK in particular. Currently we are hoping to open a few new venues and are searching for more volunteer facilitators which will help us to open up the venues, listen to and help the attendees in any way we can by signposting them to other relevant services and organisations.”
ManGang UK provides support for men who are struggling with their mental health and gives them the chance to have open conversations with no judgement. The support network allows men to not feel alone and encourages them to speak up about their mental health.
Roz Wells, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “It’s been amazing to witness the community come together to make us aware about the causes in the local area that are in need of support. It was great to see the number of nominations we received from the local community throughout this competition and would like to thank everyone who took part.
“We are delighted to support local causes such as ManGang UK. The work they do makes such a positive impact on men’s mental health and well-being. It aligns perfectly with our values of community support and fostering a healthier society. We are proud to contribute to their efforts and look forward to seeing the difference they continue to make in the lives of many.”
