Discover Alresford Down in the charming market town of New Alresford
Located at the edge of New Alresford, close to the historic city of Winchester, Alresford Down is due to launch at the end of this year, with show homes opening Spring 2025. This new development is a short walk from convenient amenities such as the Co-op, cafes, the beautiful Alre Valley Trail and the famous steam-worked heritage Watercress train line.
Once completed, Alresford Down will deliver 302 new homes which comprises 1 & 2 bedroom apartments as well as 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom homes perfect for families, with 40% being allocated as affordable housing. The development will include approximately 16 hectares of Public Open Space connected to the existing parkland, allowing the new green space to be enjoyed by the entire community.

About the development
The master plan
We want to create a thriving new community in New Alresford. The scheme is split into two; the residential scheme is located to the north separated from the commercial area to the south by approximately 16 hectares of Parkland. The appearance of the new homes will be reflective of the local area, materials will be used to not only complement but enhance the area. To create a sustainable community, the development will have a number of distinct character areas such as the ‘Sun Lane Gateway’, ‘Parkland & Countryside Edge’ and ‘Village Green’.
The perfect place to be
Home to the Watercress Line steam railway and the famous watercress fields, Alresford has a thriving town centre and sits on the edge of the South Downs National Park. With a great community feel and local charities organising regular events, makes Alresford Down a popular family choice to put down roots with the added benefit of having local Primary and Secondary schools nearby. For commuting, residents will have easy access to the A31 which links to the M3 at Winchester and Alton to the north, while Winchester railway station is just under 9 miles from Alresford Down.

We Give Boost to Alresford Agricultural Show
We are proud to have supported the community of Alresford with a contribution of £250 to the Alresford Agricultural Show, which took place on the 7th September.
Our donation was put towards the event’s prize money fund and was part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the community local to Alresford Down.
The Alresford Agricultural Show takes place on the first Saturday of September every year in Tichborne Park and celebrates rural life in Alresford and the community residing there. Each year, the park’s cattle grazing land is transformed into the event’s showground with the help of volunteers.
This year’s event saw a footfall of around 12,000 attendees, showcasing prize-winning animals, a variety of horse competitions, local food, drink and shopping stalls, modern and vintage machinery exhibitions, dog shows, and children’s entertainment.
Lorraine Bailey, Secretary for the Alresford Agricultural Show, said: “It was touch and go as to whether the Alresford Show was still on due to the amount of rainfall we had that week, but thanks to the ground management, dedication and sheer determination of the team all went ahead! A big thank you to everyone involved and to Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation from the people who made it happen, our members and the public for making it a fantastic day.”
Roz Wells, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: "With construction underway at our Alresford Down development, we are delighted to support the Alresford community ahead of our development’s launch. This event not only allows Alresford residents to enjoy a fun day out but also represents and celebrates the rural identity this community is proud of."
