Taylor Wimpey has submitted a reserved matters planning application for new homes on land to the east of Three Mile Cross and to the north of Church Lane.

    This web page gives you the chance to find out more about our proposals for land north of Church Lane, Three Mile Cross.

    Outline planning permission for the overall development of 900 homes at Spencers Wood and Three Mile Cross was received in October 2014. Some 260 of these homes are proposed to the east of Three Mile Cross.

    Taylor Wimpey is currently drawing up detailed proposals for a residential scheme of 172 homes on land to the north of Church Lane, east of Three Mile Cross, with a view to submitting a planning application to Wokingham Borough Council in October 2015. A further application will be prepared in due course for land south of Church Lane.

    We held a public exhibition for nearby residents to review our proposals for the land to the north of Church Lane on Wednesday 21st October 2015.     Proposed access to the development site off Church Lane

    Our proposed development site is located to the north of Church Lane, to the east of Three Mile Cross, nestled between existing residential properties in Basingstoke Road to the west and open fields to the east.

    To the north of the proposed new homes lies hedgerow and an area of open land, beyond which is Junction 11 of the M4 motorway.

    Access to the new homes is proposed from Church Lane, which forms the southern boundary of the site.

    The site is former agricultural land and existing mature trees and hedgerows within the site will be retained where possible and complemented by new planting.

  • Whats proposed

    Our development is designed to work within the constraints and opportunities of the site and is a scheme that respects the area’s surroundings.

    Key elements of our development are as follows:

    • 172 new homes
    • A new linear park, including a multi-use games area, a children’s play area and allotments
    • Access off Church Lane via a new roundabout
    • Sustainable drainage system including an attenuation basin to the north of the site
    • Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) to be provided at May’s Farm Meadows
