    Taylor Wimpey, in collaboration with Vistry Homes, has received Reserved Matters planning consent to build 250 new homes on land off Yardley Road in Olney. Work is due to start on site in November 2020, with the first show homes due to launch in March 2021.

    The site lies to the west of Olney with vehicular access being available off Yardley Road, and secondary cycle/pedestrian access linking on to Aspreys.

     

    Olney is a vibrant market town with a traditional High Street offering an array of boutique independent shops and eateries. The town has a Co-op and Tesco Metro, and a recently opened Sainsbury's. A weekly market and monthly farmer’s market takes place in the market square. Other notable features of the town are football, rugby and cricket clubs, allotments and a library. Emberton Country Park is also within walking distance of the town centre.

     

    For more extensive leisure and retail facilities, Milton Keynes is within easy reach and boasts a nationally renowned large range of shopping and eating options.   

     

    Within the locality of Olney, the town is surrounded by picturesque villages such as Weston Underwood and Yardley Hastings, both of which have excellent country pubs and rural walks.

     

    The M1 (J14) is approximately 8 miles from Olney, offering direct routes to London and Birmingham. Milton Keynes railway station is just over 11 miles away and also offers fast connections to both London and Birmingham.

    Taylor Wimpey and Vistry Homes have planning permission for 250 one to five bedroom homes, with 30% of them being delivered as affordable housing.


    In addition to the homes, a community building with changing facilities and sports pitch and play area will also be developed for the local community.
