    Taylor Wimpey has received planning permission for 513 new homes, including affordable housing, on land to the west of Wrexham Road, Chester. This website provides further information to update local residents and shares our initial proposals on the full planning application for the site. 

    Taylor Wimpey will be building 359 homes to meet the local needs as well as 154 affordable housing.

    About the site

    The Kings Moat Garden Village development forms a sustainable urban extension on the south side of the city of Chester and offers an opportunity for a new place to be created including a new primary school, playing pitches and extensive open space..

    The principle of development was approved through the Local Plan process with the Council resolving grant full planning permission in January 2019.

    The site provides the opportunity to deliver high quality housing to meet the needs of the local community and includes a significant proportion of affordable housing The development will also bring benefits to the local community, including construction jobs, apprenticeships and increased economic activity in the area.

    The new development, located opposite Chester Business Park and The King's School, is ideal for accessing jobs and services through North Wales and the North West of England. Wrexham Road connects the site to directly to Chester city centre and to the A55 expressway which itself is linked to the wider motorway network.

    A Park & Ride site is located immediately to the south of the site which, together with the good public transport service available on Wrexham Road, provides excellent sustainable commuting options to Chester, Wrexham and beyond. In addition Chester railway station is only 3 miles to the north of the site providing direct services to North Wales and the North West of England.

    Taylor Wimpey will be building 513 homes at Kings Moat Garden Village. 

    The scheme retains many of the existing trees and hedgerows and will be adding many more to the extensive open space, providing footway and cycleway links to the wider network of green infrastructure. The site will be exclusively accessed from three new junctions on Wrexham Road.
