Taylor Wimpey has Outline Planning Permission for a new residential development on land off Bickland Water Road, Falmouth.

    Taylor Wimpey has recently purchased this site which has Outline Planning Permission for 94 dwellings with associated open space. We are currently undertaking further consultation with the Local Planning Authority to determine how the homes will be sited on the site. 

    Following this, a public exhibition will be held for the local community to comment on the proposed details of our reserved matters planning application.

    About the development

    The site currently comprises 3 fields amounting to 13.3 acres, bisected by a public highway leading from Bickland Water Road to Saint Budock Parish Church. 

    As part of the development proposals, the two western fields of around 5.7 acres will be gifted to the Parish Church to preserve this historic setting and to provide future extension land for their cemetery.  This will leave around 7.6 acres for the housing development including the proposed public open space areas. 

    The development will comprise both private and affordable homes ranging from 1 bedroom flats to 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes.

    The proposals provide for 33 affordable homes (35%) including 3 Lifetime Homes. 

    The view towards Saint Buduck Parish Church will be retained within a central corridor of open space either side of the existing pathway together with further public open space at the entrance to the site. 

    The development will provide for a Sustainable Urban Drainage solution for surface water management and have a Travel Plan as part of it’s sustainability credentials.

    New footpaths along the front of the site together with pedestrian and cycle crossing points will provide a safer environment along Bickland Water Road.

    The transfer of the western fields to the Church will secure the future of the important setting of Budock Church and its surrounds and provide valuable cemetery expansion land.
