Taylor Wimpey is preparing outline plans for a new residential development on land adjacent to Godwell Lane and Exeter Road, Ivybridge.

    Land at Godwell Lane

    We have an option to purchase the land from the existing landowners, subject to planning permission being granted for our proposed residential development.

    We are currently finalising our initial technical studies of the site to ascertain its suitability for residential development.

    Should our studies confirm development is viable, we will submit a detailed planning application for a residential development in Summer 2019.

    We have completed our initial scheme and layout plan and held a public consultation on Wednesday 27 March. Please click here to view our information boards from this event. Please follow this link to leave your feedback.

    The feedback we receive during this public consultation will help us to finalise our proposals before we submit a planning application to South Hams District Council.

    About the site

    The proposed development site covers an area of 10.25 acres and is currently in agricultural use. It is adjacent to Ivybridge Rugby Club and can be accessed off Godwell Lane  The A38 Devon Expressway lays to the south of the site, providing fast links by road to Plymouth and Exeter.  Dartmoor National Park lies to the north, offering a wide range of leisure opportunities.

    • £4.6m additional gross value added per year from direct and indirect jobs

    • £2.4m per annum expected to be spent by residents

    Additional local authority income:

    • £115,995 additional Council Tax per year
    • £742,170 New Homes Bonus grant paid over 6 years by Government
