    Current Proposals

    Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd, Northumbrian Land and Persimmon Homes have received outline planning consent, with signed S106, for residential development and associated uses on the land off Beaumont Hill and Burtree Lane in Darlington.

     

    Taylor Wimpey are now due to submit reserved matters for our section of the development. 

    The current plans propose:

    • 124 Detached, Semi-detached and Terraced houses of a range of 2, 3 and 4 bedroomed house types
    • Public Open Space 
    • Landscaping and SUDS Ponds
    • Roundabout access from Beaumont Hill (A167) and Burtree Lane
    • Land reserved for Primary School
    • Off-site Highway improvements

    About the Site

    Local Context

    The site lies to the north of Darlington off Burtee Lane and the A167, which provides a direct route to the A1(M). The land is currently in agricultural use and is bound by hedging/fencing.

    We always try to keep local communities informed as we prepare and then make our planning applications and we welcome any comments you may have at this stage.

    Outline Consultations

    A Public Consultation Event was held at Whessoe Parish Hall, A167, Darlington between 3:30pm and 7:30pm on Thursday 21st May 2015. Representatives of Taylor Wimpey, Northumbrian Land, Persimmon Homes and their consultants were in attendance.

    Feedback from this consultation was taken into consideration in shaping our final planning application to Darlington Borough Council.

    March 2021

    Taylor Wimpey are preparing to submit a reserved matters application. The detailed Taylor Wimpey layout is based upon the masterplan approved under the Outline Application.  

    A leaflet has been posted to local resident informing them of the proposal. You can find a copy of the leaflet by clicking the link below.

    May 2020:

    Outline Planning Permission for the development has now been granted and the Section 106 agreement for the site has been signed by all parties. Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon and Northumbrian Land are now working on detailed plans for the site which will be submitted to the Council as a Reserved Matters Planning Application later in 2020.

     

    August 2015

    Outline Planning Application has been submitted to Darlington Borough Council for 370 units.

    Community Consultation

    A Public Consultation Event was be held at Whessoe Parish Hall, A167, Darlington between 3:30pm and 7:30pm on Thursday 21st May 2015. Representatives of Taylor Wimpey, Northumbrian Land, Persimmon Homes and their consultants, were in attendance to discuss the proposals.

    Comments were invited up until the 1st June 2015.
