  • Overview

    What are we proposing?

Taylor Wimpey is seeking permission to develop a 2.7ha parcel of land on Land off Stockton Road, Sedgefield.

The site will consist of 60 new build homes including a provision of 10 % affordable housing. We have recently received planning permision to develop 197 homes on the adjacent field and believe this new parcel to be a extension to the approved development and would provide a natural conclussion to the wider residential area.

We have consulted with the Council on initial draft proposals along with carrying out a public exhibition at Ceddesfeld Hall In November 2017.

A detailed planning application was submitted in February 2018 and discussions are on-going with the Local Planning Authority.

Please do not hesitate to contact us regarding the proposals on the above links.

  • About the site

    Site Location

The parcel of land has Stockton Road to the north east boundary and the A689 to the south east. The recently approved development by Taylor Wimpey for 197 new homes is to the north west and the development for 80 new homes by Story Homes is to the west (as shown on the below plan).

We are proposing access to be off Stockton Road and will be utilising the the existing vegetation to the NE boundary as a buffer to the site, which will include additional planting to increase the density.

The site offers good links to Teeside and Bishop Auckland, with the A1 located approximatley 3km west of the site. The centre of Sedgefield is located within a 5-10 minute walk of the site which offers a range of local services and facilities. Larger facilities including Sainsbury's Supermarket, Communtiy Hospital and the Community College are just north of the settlement.
