Taylor Wimpey have now completed the purchase of the former Robertson’s Jam Factory, off Manchester Road, Droylsden.
In August 2019, Tameside MBC granted outline planning permission for the residential development of the site for a maximum of 350 homes. This established the principle of the residential development of the site.
Taylor Wimpey have received planning permission for 167 new homes. This is part of a wider application for 338 new homes, creating a new sustainable community. The ‘reserved matters’ application provided details of things like the siting and appearance of the proposed dwellings. Access into the site from Manchester Road and Ashton Hill Lane was approved at outline stage.
