Chalk Hill Road Horndean

Land off Chalk Hill Road - Horndean - Hampshire - PO8 9NY

Outline planning application for up to 50 homes under reference 55505.

  • Proposed Development in Horndean

We have been working on an outline planning application for the land off Chalk Hill road (to the north). We held a public consultation event on 23 September 2014.  This gave local people the opportunity to find out more about what we are planning for the site and provide their feedback. Following this public consultation a planning application has been submitted to East Hampshire District Council.

The planning application was submitted in December for circa 67 homes with a mix of houses and apartments. The application seeks approval for the number of units and access.

We have since reduced the numbers to up to 50 homes, and included a much deeper landscaper buffer and open space to the northern boundary.

The application has since been refused by the council and we were in the process of appealing the application, but we have now withdrawn this appeal.

  • Important features of the proposal include:

The proposed development site is currently a field used for horse grazing and extends to approximately 7 acres.

The site is surrounded by fields, woodland, residential and commercial units and is near to the A3.

Access to the site would be from a single entrance off Chalk Hill Road.

Taylor Wimpey is proposing to develop a total of 50 homes consisting of  a mix of houses and a small number of apartments.
