    Elstree Way development proposals

    We have received planning permission for a new apartment development on the site of an existing office building at 12 Elstree Way, Borehamwood.

    Under our plans, we will provide a mix of 88 one, two and three-bedroom apartments with asociated parking provision to suit a range of purchasers – with a proportion of the new properties to be made available as affordable homes for local people in housing need.

    Building work on site has now begun.

    We held a public consultation event at The Venue on Tuesday 18th November 2014 to give local residents and other stakeholders the chance to find out more about our proposals.

    The proposed development site

    The development site covers an area of 0.94 acres and is currently occupied by a multi-storey office building and car park.

    The site is bordered to the north by the A5135 Elstree Way, which provides direct links to the facilities of Borehamwood town centre and railway station, as well as to the A1, which is approximately one mile away to the east.

    Neighbouring office buildings are located to the immediate west and east of the proposed development site while existing homes in Bullhead Road back on to its south-eastern boundary. To the south lies the green open space of Maxwell Park.

    Our proposals

    Our proposals for 12 Elstree Way have been developed in consultation with Hertsmere Borough Council.

    The scheme has been designed to work within the constraints and opportunities of the site to create an attractive and sustainable development that is in keeping with its surroundings, and is in line with the overall strategy for the redevelopment of the area.

    Key elements of our scheme are as follows:

    Development timeline

    June 2016 - Building work started on site

    Thursday 10th September 2015 - Received a resolution to grant planning permission

    Tuesday 18th November 2014 – Public consultation at The Venue, Elstree Way, Borehamwood between 4pm and 8pm.

    December 2014 – Consultation feedback considered and planning application finalised for submission to Hertsmere Borough Council.

    January 2015 - Planning application submitted to Hertsmere Borough Council.
