    About the Site

Our proposed development site is known locally as 'the pea fields'. This privately owned land lies to the north of Broomshaw Road and south of Hermitage Quarry. The land is next to our forthcoming 80-home development to the east, which we will begin constructing this autumn.

The site straddles the Borough of Maidstone and Tonbridge and Malling, and therefore comes under the jurisdiction of two planning authorities - Maidstone Borough Council, and Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, respectively.

The part of the site within the Borough of Maidstone has been allocated for 187 new homes in the adopted Local Plan.

  • What's proposed

    What's Proposed

The site straddles the Borough of Maidstone and Tonbridge and Malling, and therefore comes under the jurisdiction of two planning authorities - Maidstone Borough Council, and Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council respectively.

The part of the site within the Borough of Maidstone has been allocated for 187 new homes in the adopted Local Plan. We are now putting together a full planning application for 187 new homes, including 30% affordable properties, for this parcel of land, which we intend to submit to Maidstone Borough Council for consideration.

The part of the site within the Borough of Tonbridge and Malling has been allocated for development in the draft Local Plan. We are putting together an outline planning application for up to 118 new homes, including 40% affordable properties, for this part of the site. Outline planning permission establishes the principle of developing a site.

Together, the proposals are for up to 305 new homes, including affordable properties, public open space and an equipped play area.
