An Outline Planning Application was submitted to Melton Borough Council in September 2014 for up to 200 new homes on land off Melton Spinney Road, Melton Mowbray. This followed a period of public consultation and meetings held with officers at the Borough Council in the Summer of 2014. The application is currently pending determination.

    Taylor Wimpey in September 2014 has  submitted  an outline planning application for up to 200 new homes and associated open space, on land off Melton Spinney Road, Melton Mowbray. We always try to keep local communities informed as we prepare and then make our planning applications and really welcome any comments that you may have at this stage.

    We held a public exhibition at Thorpe Arnold Cricket Pavilion in Waltham Road on July 9th 2014, and received some very useful comments by those who attended.

    Since the exhibition and following feedback from officers from Melton Borough Council, we have prepared a revised masterplan, which you can view under the What's Proposed section of this website.

    The revised masterplan proposes up to 200 new homes and associated open space and includes two vehicle access points from Melton Spinney Road. The attenuation basin has been re-orientated to allow for a stronger frontage overlooking Melton Spinney Road. The potential footway links to Melton Country Park, landscaped corridor along the northern boundary and wildlife area within the south-western corner of the site has been retained.

    Melton Borough Council is starting work on a new Melton Local Plan and this will set out the new housing requirement for the Borough, broadly where the new homes will need to be located over the next 20 years

    We have now submitted our formal Outline Planning Application as we seek to secure the principal of our development which is shown as an illustrative form
