  • Overview


    Taylor Wimpey are currently in the process of preparing a detailed planning application for a new residential development of 16 family homes on land to the south of the Leavesden development, off Main Road in Biggin Hill.

    This is a previously developed area of brownfield land which formally accommodated the Married Quarters associated with the historic Biggin Hill Airport.

    The adjacent development known as 'Leavesden' was completed by Taylor Wimpey in 2008. An extra parcel of land was included in this purchase and was initially intended to house a Heritage Centre or Museum to commemorate the military role of RAF Biggin Hill.

    Bromley Council have since granted planning permission for a Heritage Centre on a different site, allowing this parcel of land to be brought forward for housing.


    Biggin Hill Airport

    London Biggin Hill Airport is a prime feature of the local area, having played a significant role in the Battle of Britain during the Second World War.

    Scheme Layout

    The development will consist of predominantly 4 bed detached family homes, with some 3 and 2 bed houses and 2 bed apartments. It will deliver 10 private homes and 6 shared-ownership homes.
    The central area of the new development will be carefully landscaped to enhance a rural theme. We hope to maintain a green buffer zone adjacent to the Main Road, retaining a number of the existing trees but also encourage planting of new saplings across other areas of the site.

    The scheme proposes a residential access road linking up to Moxey Close. Throughout the build phase however, construction traffic will not be allowed to use this entrance. All vehicles accessing the site will do so via an existing access from Main Road.
