    Taylor Wimpey have submitted a reserved matters planning application in collaboration with Homegroup of  845 homes at Allens West, Eaglescliffe.

    • The Taylor Wimpey phase looks to introduce 423 new family homes incorporating a range of types and sizes, including affordable housing.
    • Creating large areas of public open space.
    • Access from existing roundabout on Durham Lane. Additional junction to the North of the existing to be introduced

    About the site

    The site is located on the northern fringes of Eaglescliffe, accessed from Durham Lane which runs along the eastern boundary. The site is 4km to the South of the A66 road junction with Durham Lane.

    The site area is approximately 45.7 hectares and is currently home to a number of large empty industrial buildings previously owned by the MoD.

    The land to the North of the development is home to a nature reserve, which provide excellent ecological benefit. The boundary to the South West is predominately formed by the Stockton to Darlington railway line with Allens West Train station located further south which provides improved transport links for future residents.

    Whats Proposed

    Prior to the submission of the planning application, a masterplan has been created for the scheme which highlights some of the items that are being proposed across the site:

    • Approximately 845 new homes, ranging from one to four bedrooms. Split between Taylor Wimpey and Home Group
    • Provision of Affordable Housing on site.
    • Areas of central Public Open Spaces.
    • Pedestrian connections to Durham Lane.
    • Proposed vehicular access from Durham Lane using an existing roundabout shared with Chaldron Way. An additional junction will be located North.
    • Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) to be incorporated within the scheme.
    • Extensive landscaping scheme and tree planting to be introduced.

    April 2019 

    Taylor Wimpey are currently in talks with Stockton Borough Council prior to the submission of a reserved matters application.  A public consultation event will then follow in Spring 2019.

    The public consultation is a chance for you to view all the current information and plans for a new development. We will be there to listen to any views and comments you may have on the latest proposals.

     

    May 2019

    A Consultation Event will be taking place Wednesday 5th June between 3pm-7pm at the Egglescliffe Community Centre.

    This is your chance to take a look over the details of the development, ask questions and provide comments.

    Thank you for those you who came along to the community consultation event. Taylor Wimpey & Homegroup will now be reviewing the comments recived. 

    If you did not have chase to come along, you can still make comments through our website. We will be collating these until 19th June 2019. 

     

    August 2019

    Thank you for your patience following the community consultation. Taylor Wimpey & Homegroup are still reviewing the responses and questions and will makcembere changes to the scheme where relevant. The aim for the planning application is now around the start of September and when submitted the application will be accompanied by a Statement of Community Involvement providing our full responses to the issues raised.

     

    February 2020

    The planning application has now been submitted and validated by Stockton Borough Council. Over the coming months Taylor Wimpey and Homegroup will be in talks with Stockton BC to agree the details.

     

    December 2020

    The planning application was approved at committee. We are due to start works on the development in Spring 2021.

     

    March 2021

    Our groundworkers are now on site completing the site clearance in preparation for the development.
