Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire's intends to submit a detailed planning application for residential development of 115 dwellings on land at Urlay Nook, Eaglescliffe.

    The site is situated at Urlay Nook, west of Eaglescliffe. It is bordered by highways infrastructure on the north, and south with Taylor Wimpey's Sadlers View development to the east and Police training centre to the West.

    The key characteristics of this scheme are:

    • 115 new dwellings, including affordable housing, covering a range of types and sizes
    • Creation of publicly accessible open space and ecological enhancements
    • Integration and upgrading of existing footpath network
    • The delivery of a range of community benefits as part of the section 106 contributions

    Land at Urlay Nook

    This land at Urlay Nook generally comprises open arable grassland bound by hedgerows.

    The land is bounded by Urlay Nook Road to the northern boundary, with the A67 (leading to Darlington and the airport) to the south.

    The land is in close proximity to employment related development; within 500m of existing parks and recreational facilities, within 1km of Durham Lane designated retail centre and a Tesco supermarket. Eaglescliffe Comprehensive School, Durham Lane Primary School and Junction Farm Primary School are also within walking distance of the site.

    As we review your comments, and evolve the development proposal, we shall update the website’s content accordingly.


    Once the planning application is submitted, the Council will again write to you as neighbours of the application, providing a further opportunity to submit your comments.

    The development of land at Urlay Nook will provide a range of new housing that will contribute greatly towards Stockton Borough Council's requirement of 8,250 new homes over the next 16 years.
