Community Benefits for Eston that the Project Can Deliver

The development of the land at Low Grange Farm will not only provide a range of new housing that will contribute greatly towards Redcar and Clevelands Council's requirement of new homes, but also facilitate the introduction of new local amenities and facilities, as well as the enhancement of existing ones, that could otherwise not be provided or sustained.

The project, that we are currently consulting you on, can provide a host of benefits to local community, such as:

    • Emphasis will be put on employing local labour throughout the construction phase.
    • An investment will be received by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council from the New Homes Bonus Scheme, which has been set up by the Government to benefit local communities when accommodating new development
    • The development will deliver a range of housing to meet the needs and aspirations of the whole community. There will be a  provision of affordable units, housing designed to meet the needs of  first time buyers, key workers and families
    • The project will have a legal agreement in place, called a Section 106 Agreement, that will cover any required improvements to items such as local public open space and education. Any off-site highways improvements that are necessary to accommodate the development will also be secured through a legal agreement with the Local Authority.

We very much welcome people's view on what we are proposing. We intend to discuss with people any comments they may have with the aim of delivering facilities that will be most beneficial to the community at Eston.
