  • About the Site

The site is located immediately on Main Road, Hambleton, in the North East of the village. It is bordered on the north and east by farm land, and by Residential properties on St Mary's Approach, and Station Road to the west.

A watercourse known as Town Dyke runs eastwards along the Site's Southern boundary.

As you may be aware, in December 2015 the land to the north of Main Road, Hambleton was granted outline planning permission for a development of new homes by Selby District Council (Ref: 2015/0105/OUT).

Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire is now in the process of preparing a Reserved Matters (Detailed) application for the site. Before we submit this application we are keen to get the views of local people on what sort of house design and layout would be suitable.

The plans are for around 119 high-quality family homes of two to four bedrooms. A proportion of the properties will be made available as affordable homes to help meet local housing needs.

The reserved matters application will shortly be submitted to the Council to agree details of layout, scale, appearance, landscaping and means of access for the residential development.

We always try to keep local communities informed as we prepare and make our planning applications and we welcome any comments that you may have on our proposals at this stage.

You may recall that in December 2015 an outline planning application to develop this site for housing was approved by Selby District Council (ref: 2015/0105/OUT). The approved scheme covers  an area of 11. 6 acres.
