  • About the site

    About the Site

The site is located immediately on Main Road, Hambleton, on the eastern fringe of the village. It is bordered on the north and east by farm land, and by residential properties on St Mary's Approach and Station Road to the west.

A watercourse known as Town Dyke runs eastwards along the site's southern boundary.

In December 2015 the site was granted outline planning permission for a development of new homes by Selby District Council (Ref: 2015/0105/OUT).

Following on form a public consultation exercise, which included the circulation of leaflets and public event, Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire has now submitted a Reserved Matters (Detailed) application for the site to agree details of the layout, scale, appearance, landscaping and means of access for the residential development.

The plans are for around 115 high quality family homes between two to four bedrooms. A proportion of the properties will be made available as affordable homes to help meet local housing needs.

We always try to keep local communities informed as we prepare and make our planning applications and we welcome any comments that you may have on our proposals at this stage.

You may recall that in December 2015 an outline planning application to develop this site for housing was approved by Selby District Council (ref: 2015/0105/OUT). The approved scheme covers  an area of 11. 6 acres.

Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire is intending to submit a reserved matters planning application for around 119 family homes - ranging from two to four bedrooms. The reserved matters application will shortly be submitted to the Council to agree details of layout, scale, appearance, landscaping and means of access for the residential development.
