    Taylor Wimpey and Miller Homes have been working together to provide residential development on land at South Newsham, Blyth providing a total of 300 homes with Taylor Wimpey proposing 131 on the northern parcel of the proposed site.

    The site was previously granted Outline Approval by Northumberland County Council and a Reserved Matters Planning Application has been submitted jointly in November 2020.

    The proposed development is located on former agricultural land to the west of South Newsham Road and north of the A1061 Laverock Hall Road and south of the existing Benridge Park residential estate.

    The site is conveniently within walking distance to local shops, schools and a range of existing facilities.

    Two point of access are proposed to the development, off South Newsham Road, with pedestrian links to the west into the existing Portland Wynd development and north into Benridge Park.

    The site is proposed as residential housing with associated gardens, landscaping, parking and roadways. Taylor Wimpey are proposing 131 houses ranging from 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom properties as well as 15, 2 bedroom bungalows as part of the 17% affordable element of the development.
