Land off Highfield Lane - Waverley - Rotherham - Yorkshire - S60 8AL
Taylor Wimpey is preparing to submit a Reserved Matters planning application for the development of circa 130 new homes in Waverley.
Taylor Wimpey has now secured detailed planning approval for 130 new homes in Waverley range from 2 to 4 bedrooms.
Access is to be gained from both Highfield Lane and Stephenson's Way.
The site lies within the new Waverley community in the suburb of Catcliffe, approximately 4 miles south of Rotherham and 5 miles east of Sheffield. With easy access to both Sheffield City Centre via A630 Sheffield Parkway and the M1 motorway, the site has excellent transport links.
Currently vacant, the site benefits from an Outline Planning Permission for housing granted in March 2011. The total developable area is approximately 12.31 acres.
It is at the heart of the emerging Waverley community, bounded by Highfield Spring to the south and the ‘greenway’ footpath link to the north.
Site Location Plan
The proposed development comprises 130 detached, semi-detached and terraced family homes of 2 to 4 bedrooms. Properties will vary in form and height, with a collection of 2 and 2.5 storey homes. You can view an Illustrative Street Scene here.

Vehicular and pedestrian access will be taken from Highfield Lane and Stephenson Way, with additional pedestrian links throughout the site joining the existing ‘greenway’ footpath.

Taylor Wimpey believes the new development will offer a wide range of benefits for new residents and the existing Waverley community, including the following:
- The proposed development will contribute a number of high quality affordable homes.
- Creation of new public open space for future use by the whole Waverley community.
- Enhanced pedestrian and cycle links will provide access through the site to the public open space and to the wider Waverley community via ‘greenway’ footpath link.
- The site forms part of the new Waverley community, which is committed to providing a number of other amenities in accordance with the Section 106 agreement.
