    Hamilton Copse, Uttoxeter

    In February 2019, East Staffordshire Borough Council granted Full planning permission for a new 429-home community on the southern fringes of Uttoxeter, on land previously belonging to Hazelwalls Farm.

     

    The wider site is being developed by Barratts and David Wilson homes, with Taylor Wimpey developing a 6.68-acre area on the southern area of the overall development, which will be known as Hamilton Copse.

     

    Taylor Wimpey has now submitted a Section 73 planning application for 78 new homes at Hamilton Copse and a resolution to the planning application is expected later this year.

     

    Due to the pandemic, Taylor Wimpey’s public consultation on the plans is being held online. You can view the plans on this website and submit your feedback via the ‘Have Your Say’ button.     Matters relating to ecology and other environmental impacts are being considered by the Landowner, Barratts David Wilson. Taylor Wimpey are required to comply with all of the reports and methods for mitigation which have been completed and submitted as part of the original approved full planning application.

    What's proposed?

    Our proposals for Hamilton Copse are aligned with the requirements set out in the outline planning permission and include the following:

    • 78 new homes
    • A mix of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes
    • 14 affordable homes. 11 available for affordable rent, and three shared ownership properties
    • Hamilton Copse will be accessed through the Barratts David Wilson site from Timber Lane
    • Pedestrian and cycle links to wider area.
    • Materials are in accordance with the approved full planning application and reflect the existing character of the area.
    • An abundance of open space and play area will be provided as part of the wider development
    • Sustainable Urban Drainage will be provided as part of the wider development, which will be in line with the approved full planning application.

    Community Benefits

    Barratts David Wilson Homes is providing a raft of financial contributions towards the local community under the terms of the Section 106 agreement for the full planning application.

    Taylor Wimpey will also provide the following:

    • 14 affordable homes for local people in housing need. Eleven available via affordable rent and three shared ownership properties.
