  • Overview

Proposed new homes at Kenton Bank Hall

Taylor Wimpey North East are submitting a reserved matters planning application for the development of 104 new detached homes. Our vision is to create a high quality development, in keeping with the surrounding area. Our initial proposals include open space, landscaping, ecology mitigation and highways improvements. The overall master plan for the Kenton Bankfoot development proposals was approved in May 2016 and outline planning approval was approved in Dec 2016 which included this phase. We will be holding a community consultation event to gain local opinion and feedback and hope to be in a position to submit a reserved matters planning application in December 2017. The site has been given a sales name of 'Kenton Bank Hall'.

  • About the site

    About the proposed development site

Taylor Wimpey is proposing to develop the area highlighted in red in the image below as part of the overall Kenton Bankfoot development. This phase offers 104 brand new homes to the local community. The proposed development site is approximately 6.8 Hectares in size and is located to the south of Ponteland Road, as indicated on the image below. This site will be the second phase of Taylor Wimpey's overall development at Kenton Bankfoot. The site is currently used for agriculture and contains a number of boundary hedges and trees, most of which are proposed to be retained or replaced as part of our proposals.

  • What's proposed

What are we proposing at this site?

These proposals indicate a housing development of 104 detached homes. Following the masterplan which was completed for the overall development, we have built on that and the constraints & opportunities to end up with the layout as it currently stands. A section of the site has been set aside for the ecological area with no public access. A cycle link goes through the site. We have set the houses back from the metro line with open space and landscaping creating a buffer. We are retaining existing landscaping wherever possible and enhancing with new.
