In May 2017, outline planning permission (15/04499/OUT) was granted for a new residential development of up to 500 homes, land for a primary school, public open space and associated infrastructure, including three points of access into the site, two being off Bishopton Lane, and one off The Ridgeway.

    Land off Bishopton Lane

    We have been working with our development partners, Miller Homes, to prepare detailed proposals for a new community of high-quality homes and associated facilities on land to the north-west of Bishopton Lane, Stratford.

    We will shortly be submitting a Reserved Matters application to determine the appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the development. The development will provide 500 new homes from one-bedroom to five-bedroom dwellings, including a number of bungalows and 35% affordable housing, creating a balanced and mixed community.

    The site is in a sustainable location, immediately adjacent to the existing urban area, and within walking distance of Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway railway station. Bus services along Bishopton Lane will be extended into the site, connecting to the town centre.

    An area of land is safeguarded for a primary school.

    A package of measures will be delivered through the Section 106 Agreement, including enhancements to the canal towpath, library facilities, highways improvements, public transport, ecology, education and healthcare contributions.

    On 30 October 2017, we held a public consultation event at Stratford Town Hall, inviting members of the public to view our proposals, ask questions and provided feedback.
