Outline planning permission has been granted for a residential development of up to 61 new homes on land off Hospital Lane, Powick, and Taylor Wimpey has now submitted a reserved matters planning application for the site.

    This web page gives you the chance to find out more about our proposals for land off Hospital Lane, Collett’s Green, Powick.

    This site already has outline planning permission for a residential development of up to 61 new homes.

    We held three community consultation events in October, November and December 2015 and the feedback we received at these events helped to shape our emerging scheme, prior to submitting our Reserved Matters application for the development in February 2016.

    We are now awaiting the decision by Malvern Hill District Council on our proposals.

    The development site has outline planning permission for a residential development and is located to the east of Hospital Lane. The site extends to about 4.66 hectares (11.5 acres) and is currently used for grazing.

    Existing residential properties lie to the west and north of the site, while Powick Hospital Playing Field lies to the north-east. Agricultural land is located to the east and south of the development site.

    Bredon House, a Grade II listed building which was part of the former Powick Hospital, is found to the west of the site.

    Mature native hedgerows define the site at its boundaries to the north and west.

    Our development is designed to work within the constraints and opportunities of the site and is a scheme that respects the area’s surroundings.

    Key elements of our development are as follows:

    • 61 new homes
    • 40% affordable housing
    • A mix of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom houses
    • Creation of public open space including a natural children’s play area
    • Existing mature trees and hedgerows complemented by new planting
    • Vehicle access off Hospital Lane
    • Connecting pedestrian links to surrounding areas and within the village
    • Sustainable drainage scheme including an attenuation pond at the south-eastern corner of the site to manage surface water drainage on site
