    The site which we are proposing for our new development is denoted by the orange circle on the map pictured below.

     

    Planning Permission in Principle (PPP) has been approved and we intend to submit an application for Approval of Matters specified by condition (AMC).  This will set out our detailed proposals for housing mix, landscaping and building materials.

    About the site

    This is a brownfield site, lying to the south eastern edge of Edinburgh.  The proposed development is located in an area that is well-placed for a range of amenities including Fort Kinnaird, The Jewel and the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary (ERI),  as well as new Lidl and Home Bargains stores on nearby Niddrie Mains Road.  Access will be direct from Greendykes Road.

    The site is being purchased from PARC Craigmillar Ltd who is making significant investments in the community infrastructure for this area including a new joint campus primary school, affordable housing, new shops, a library and a multi-function Council office.  A new secondary school replacing Castlebrae Community High School is proposed to be delivered for the area.

    We have lodged an Approval of Matters specified by Condition (AMC) to The City of Edinburgh Council, and we anticipate this application will be referred to the planning committee in summer 2018.  We will keep the local community informed of our progress.
